A hands-on career in signage
We are a South African signage company with work that changes from week to week. One day you may be helping with artwork for a retail rollout, the next you could be on site for an installation in Pretoria, Centurion or Brits. Our team handles concept, production and fitting, so the work suits people who like seeing a job through from start to finish.
We value practical skills, steady judgement and the ability to work with care. Load-shedding, weather and site access can affect a job, so our people need to stay organised and adapt when plans shift. If you are reliable and willing to learn, there is room to grow with us.
Roles we hire for
We recruit for a range of roles across office, workshop and site work. Some positions are permanent, while others suit project-based support when rollout work is busy.
- Graphic design and artwork preparation
- Production and fabrication support
- Vehicle wrap fitting and vinyl application
- Installation and site support
- Client service and job coordination
- Operations and workshop administration
Experience in signage, printing, manufacturing, motor graphics or construction site work is useful, but not always required. We also consider people with strong attention to detail, a good work ethic and a willingness to learn our processes.
What the work involves
Our jobs often include measuring sites, preparing materials, cutting vinyl, assembling sign components and installing branded items safely and neatly. On commercial and municipal work, there may be permits, access rules or time windows to manage, so accuracy matters from the first site survey to final handover.
- Working with steel, acrylic, boards, vinyl and printed graphics
- Using ladders, tools and installation equipment safely
- Checking sizes, finishes and colour consistency before fitment
- Keeping vehicles, workshop areas and materials in order
We expect clear communication, punctuality and respect for client premises. Coastal humidity, dust and sun exposure can affect materials, so proper prep and finishing is part of the job, not an afterthought.
Careers at HM Graphics & Signs
People who fit in here usually like working in a team where their effort is visible. A sign installed well can help a retailer attract customers, guide visitors at a municipal site or give a brand a stronger presence on the road. That kind of result is satisfying when you have played a part in it.
We are based in Hartbeespoort and work across Pretoria, Tshwane, Akasia, Rosslyn, Soshanguve, Centurion and Brits. That means there is variety in the jobs we take on and the places we work. Some days are workshop focused, others are spent on site with tight deadlines, so flexibility helps a lot.
