Vehicle Wrap Fitting

HM Graphics & Signs fits decals and full or partial wraps with careful surface prep, clean alignment and proper curing for one vehicle or a full fleet. We work from Hartbeespoort and Pretoria across Tshwane, Brits, Centurion and Gauteng, with fitting that holds up in heat, rain and daily road use.

Vehicle Wrap Fitting

What Our Vehicle Wrap Fitting Covers

Our fitting service is for business vehicles, delivery bakkies, panel vans, trailers, cars and fleet units that need branding applied neatly and consistently. We handle the final stage from cleaned panels to finished installation, so the graphics sit straight, bond properly and match the approved artwork. For larger rollouts, we coordinate unit by unit to keep liveries consistent across all vehicles.

The service covers printed graphics, cut vinyl lettering, reflective elements where required and partial or full wraps. We fit on-site or at our base depending on the job size, access and weather. In and around Pretoria and Hartbeespoort, we also plan around summer heat, dust and the strong afternoon sun, because those conditions affect application and curing times.

  • Single vehicles and mixed fleets
  • Door branding, tailgate panels, bonnet graphics and full sides
  • Printed wrap sections, cut text and numbering
  • Cleaning, surface prep and final inspection before handover

How We Prepare The Vehicle Before Fitting

Good fitting starts before the first panel goes on. We inspect the vehicle paintwork, trim, curves and any previous branding to check whether the surface is suitable for application. If there is old adhesive, wax build-up or road grime, that is removed first. We also note scratches, stone chips and repaired areas, since these can affect adhesion and the final finish.

Before the wrap is fitted, panels are washed, dried and degreased. We work carefully around handles, mirrors, fuel caps, light clusters and body lines so the graphics follow the vehicle shape instead of fighting it. On fleet work, we keep a record of each unit’s layout to make sure the numbering and placement stay consistent from one vehicle to the next.

  • Paint and panel check for adhesion risk
  • Removal of loose dirt, polish and contaminants
  • Measurement of curves, recesses and panel breaks
  • Placement marks for straight alignment

Fitting Process For Clean, Even Results

Once the vehicle is ready, the graphics are positioned, aligned and tacked in place before final application. Depending on the material and panel size, we use dry application or controlled wet application. The aim is to avoid air pockets, wrinkles and edge lift, especially on deep curves and long side panels. Corners and cut-outs are handled with extra pressure and heat where needed, without overstretching the film.

We trim edges neatly and check every join, seam and end point. If the job includes vehicle doors that open daily, we allow enough clearance so the wrap does not catch or peel with repeated use. For larger fleets, our installation lead keeps the sequence moving and checks each unit against the artwork spec before sign-off. It saves time and cuts down on costly rework later.

  • Panel-by-panel placement and alignment
  • Heat setting around curves and recesses
  • Edge trimming and final bonding checks
  • Fleet consistency check before release

Turnaround Times And What Affects Them

Turnaround depends on the size of the vehicle, the number of units and whether we are fitting full wraps, partial wraps or lettering only. A single standard vehicle can often be completed within a day once the graphics are ready and the vehicle is clean. Fleet rollouts take longer because each unit needs the same layout and a careful sequence of fitting and inspection.

We also allow time for curing, especially in cooler months or when vehicles are fitted in sheltered areas with limited airflow. In high humidity along the inland humidity spikes and after summer rain, we may extend the handover window so the adhesive sets properly. That extra care helps avoid premature lifting, which is a pain to sort out after the vehicle is back on the road.

  • Single vehicle lettering: often same day
  • Partial wraps: usually 1 to 2 days per unit
  • Full wraps: depends on panel count and complexity
  • Fleet jobs: scheduled in batches to keep vehicles in service

Pricing Approach For Single Vehicles And Fleets

We price vehicle wrap fitting based on the amount of material, labour, panel complexity and access to the vehicle. A simple pair of door logos is priced differently from a full van wrap with deep recesses, ladder racks or roof panels. If removal of old branding is needed, that is quoted separately after inspection, because adhesive condition can vary a lot from one vehicle to the next.

For fleets, we can price by unit type and install sequence so you know what to budget before work starts. Where the same design is repeated across many vehicles, setup time is spread across the batch, which can reduce the cost per unit. We keep the pricing clear and practical, with no hidden extras for the normal fitting steps that should be part of the job anyway.

  • Quoted by vehicle type and wrap size
  • Removal of old graphics priced after inspection
  • Fleet pricing available for multi-unit rollouts
  • Access constraints and after-hours work can affect cost

Care And Maintenance After Fitting

After fitting, we recommend keeping the vehicle dry for the initial curing period and avoiding pressure washing near edges for at least a few days. Once the wrap has settled, regular washing with mild soap and soft cloths helps keep the finish clean. Harsh solvents, abrasive pads and strong alkaline cleaners can shorten the life of the graphics.

We also suggest a quick inspection every 3 to 6 months, especially on fleet units that do long kilometres, park in the sun or work near construction dust. Check door edges, bumper corners and the ends of panels for early signs of lifting. If something starts to peel, it is better to have it repaired early before dirt gets under the film and makes the fix larger than it should be.

  • Allow proper curing before washing
  • Use mild soap and soft cloths only
  • Inspect edges every 3 to 6 months
  • Schedule touch-ups before damage spreads

Questions we get asked

Do you fit wraps on both single vehicles and fleets?

Yes. We handle one-off units as well as repeat fleet rollouts, with consistent placement across all vehicles.

Can you remove old branding before fitting new graphics?

Yes. We can assess and quote for removal of old vinyl or wrap film before the new fitting starts.

How long should I wait before washing a newly fitted wrap?

Allow a proper curing period first, then wash gently with mild soap. Avoid strong pressure at the edges for the first few days.
